This year the AFC merged with Screen Sound. As part of this process, the AFC released a discussion paper, a key recommendation being the establishment of an Indigenous Unit within Screen Sound. As part of the AFC consultation with industry into the proposed changes, ISA attended hearings in Canberra and Sydney. ISA also convened a meeting with the AFC and AIATSIS to discuss AIATSIS role and best practise in the management of Indigenous materials. The document attached is ISA’s submission to the consultation process.ISA is now represented on the Screen Sound Interim Advisory Committee. This committee has met and ISA is tracking the implementation of the Indigenous Unit.
